Mini Cake Doughnuts

Ingredients

Doughnuts

  • 1 ¼ cups flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • 1 ½ tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Vanilla Glaze

  • 1 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Doughnuts

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Spray mini doughnut pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl stir flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg and salt together.
  • Add buttermilk, egg, vanilla and butter.
  • Stir until combined.
  • Fill each doughnut cavity approximately ½ full.
  • Bake 4-6 minutes or until the top of the doughnuts spring back when touched.
  • Let cool in pan for 4-5 minutes before removing.
  • Finish with glaze and sprinkles!

Glaze

  • In a bowl, stir together the sugar, milk and vanilla until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Use immediately.
