Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

  • slow cooker
  • potato masher


  • 4-5 medium size russet potatoes
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese, softened
  • ΒΌ cup butter, softened
  • milk
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • pinch of seasoning salt


  • Peel potatoes and cut into 1'' pieces
  • Place in slow cooker and pour chicken broth over the top. Pour enough to make sure all the potatoes are covered in the liquid so the potatoes don't turn brown
  • Cook on high for 4-6 hours or on low for 7-8 hours.
  • Carefully drain potatoes in a colander and place in a bowl to be mashed
  • Begin mashing potatoes with potato masher and add cream cheese, butter, salt and pepper, seasoning salt and milk for creaminess, as needed.
  • Place in a serving bowl or back in the slow cooker on warm setting if you're not ready to serve them.
