Slow Cooker Apple Butter

  • 4 lbs Cooking Apples, peeled, cored and sliced about 12 cups
  • 2 cups sugar
  • cup water
  • 2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. ground cloves
  • tsp. ground allspice
  • tsp. ground nutmeg


  • Peel, core and slice apples
  • Place in a 3½ or 4qt slow cooker.
  • Stir in the remaining ingredients.
  • Cover and cook on high for 5-6 hours; stir.
  • Cool at least one hour.
  • Spoon into jars or other freezer safe containers, leaving a ½ inch space.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to three weeks or the freezer for up to one year.
