Homemade Biscuits
Ingredients
4
cups
Self-Rising Flour
1
T.
Baking powder
1
T.
Sugar
¾
cup.
Shortening
2
cups
Buttermilk
Instructions
Mix all ingredients just until blended. I like to use my pastry blender.
Dust counter top with flour and roll out dough.
Use a floured biscuit cutter or small drinking glass to cut biscuits.
Place on a lightly greased baking sheet, or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake at 400 degrees.
Bake for 14-18 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.
Notes
I begin checking to see if they are done at around 10 minutes. Sometimes I only bake a small number at a time and the baking time will be less.
