Maple Flavored Syrup- Water, sugar, brown sugar, maple extract and vanilla extract make up this delicious breakfast syrup.
Since we have been married I can count on one hand the number of times I have bought bottled syrup. And, it's not because we don't use it enough, because we do. Hellllooooo, Saturday morning pancakes! It's because I've been making this maple flavored syrup that we prefer over the store bought kind.
I store the syrup in a mason jar which I keep in the fridge. I reheat it before we are ready to eat and we just pour some over our breakfast.
I love this syrup for three good reasons. 1. It's cheap. 2. I can pronounce all the ingredients. 3. It tastes good!
Something else that's awesome about making this syrup is that it's *almost* a guarantee that you will always have syrup when you're ready for it. I think we have all been there.....preparing an epic weekend morning breakfast of pancakes, waffles or french toast and it's almost time to eat and you realize the syrup bottle is wayyy low. Total bummer!
There's a good chance you've already got sugar, brown sugar and vanilla so next time you're at the store grab a bottle of maple extract . The maple extract will be close to the vanilla extract in the baking aisle.

"2. I can pronounce all of the ingredients" haha yes! That is what I love about homemade alternatives! There was a time when things weren't made in prepackaged bottles and were made at home without any unnecessary additives. I can't wait to try this one!
